Global fire safety concept for buildings*
Concept global de sécurité incendie pour les bâtiments en acier
Fire engineering design for steel buildings is a recent discipline which is progressing constantly and dynamically. The Eurocodes enable now to design in a uniform way all over Europe. However, the main part of the methods described in the Eurocodes is based on the ISO curve. This paper describes a fire safety probabilistic concept based on natural and realistic fire curves including the effect of active fire fighting measures.
