Professor Lifeng Zhang Joins Metallurgical Research & Technology as Co-Editor-in-Chief

We are pleased to announce that Professor Lifeng Zhang, President and Professor at North China University of Technology , has joined Metallurgical Research & Technology (MRT) as co-Editor-in-Chief, effective August 2024. His appointment further strengthens the journal’s editorial leadership, joining Jean-Marc Steiler and Danièle Quantin, as MRT continues to advance its role as a premier publication in the metallurgy and materials science community.

With extensive expertise in metallurgy and materials science, Prof. Lifeng Zhang has had a distinguished academic career spanning multiple decades, during which he has made significant contributions to research on metal processing and alloy development. As President of North China University of Technology, he has played a key role in advancing educational and research excellence in China, particularly within the metallurgical field. His appointment as co-Editor-in-Chief at MRT represents a significant milestone in the journal’s evolution and its commitment to embracing global perspectives in research.

Professors Lifeng Zhang, Jean-Marc Steiler, and Danièle Quantin will work closely together with the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Dr Iryna Tomashchuk, to guide the journal’s editorial strategy. Prof. Steiler, with his vast experience in the steel industry, and Ms. Quantin, who has a deep background in metallurgy and industrial research, bring complementary expertise. Together with Zhang, they will ensure that MRT remains at the forefront of cutting-edge research in metallurgy and materials science. Their combined leadership will reinforce the journal’s high standards of academic rigour and industry relevance, while also opening new opportunities for innovation and global collaboration.
