A major improvement in slab heating homogeneity at Cockerill Sambre*
Amélioration majeure de la qualité du réchauffage des brames à Cockerill Sambre
A major transformation of the furnaces at Cockerill Sambre - Carlam hot strip mill has been done : new burners, with triple air flow, were installed and the skids were replaced by narrower ones ; in addition, the new skids are shifted in the soaking zone.
These modifications led to a drastic improvement of the strip quality in terms of gauge, width and temperature regularity.
