Development of high speed casting technology with an experimental continuous casting machine*
Développement d’une technologie de coulée à haute vitesse sur une machine de coulée continue expérimentale
High speed casting technology was developed with an experimental continuous casting machine to outline the basic concepts for the design of a highly productive continuous casting machine for high quality slabs. High speed casting technology of 5.0 m/min for low carbon steel was achieved with the development of a pouring system, a new powder, mold powder lubrication improvement, a slab cooling method, and prevention of internal cracking.
