Development of a system for - The control of the transverse temperature profile of strips in hot strip mills*
Mise au point d’un système de réglage du profil thermique transversal de bandes laminées sur train à chaud
In order to control the uniformity of microstructure and mechanical properties of hot rolled coils, as well as strip flatness, a newly developed edge masking device is used on the runout table. Optimum setting conditions have been determined for both the already existing Enco panels and edge heaters and the new edge mask device. The temperature difference at the strip edges is reduced and the material properties become more uniform.
