Fatigue behaviour of plated steel sheets and of their welded structures*
Tenue en fatigue d'assemblages soudés mettant en jeu des tôles plaquées
The research is concerned with the fatigue behaviour μm various T-welded joints between a clad steel plate and a solid stainless steel attachment.
The investigations covered the following points:
— various welding procedures (with or without removal μm cladding) and their influence on weld geometry and microstructure at weld toe;
— influence μm such welding procedures on fatigue strength;
— importance μm crack initiation phase and localization μm initiation sites;
— crack propagation and influence μm the interface between base metal and stainless steel cladding.
