High speed casting of ultra-clean stainless steel at Chiba No. 4 CCM with CF tundish*
Coulée à grande vitesse d’acier inoxydable ultra-propre sur la machine de coulée n° 4 de Chiba équipée d’un répartiteur à écoulement centrifuge
The Chiba No. 4 CCM started up in 1994. This machine is equipped with a CF (Centrifugal Flow) tundish, which very effectively separates inclusions. With the help of CF and the use of a vertical bending machine, high speed casting up to 1.6 m/min and high cleanliness are both successfully achieved. The presentation also includes an outline of No. 4 steelmaking shop, mainly developed for stainless steels and special steels.
