Dimensionless time-averaged open eye area
against modified Froude number N in the simulations and experiments. The results for the Joubert case are computed with Δx ≈ 264μm and a post-processed minimum film thickness 1.32 mm, chosen to remove the thin capillary film. Choosing a smaller film thickness would shift the curve downwards. Error bars are not reported for the open-eye area in the Kim & Fruehan experiment.
