Development of flow control mold for high speed continuous casting using electromagnetic brake*
Développement d'une lingotière a écoulement contrôlé pour coulée continue a haute vitesse avec frein électromagnétique
To prevent mould slag from entrapping at the surface of the cast product, FC mold (Flow Pattern Control) has been developed from electromagnetic brake at Chiba Works. Electromagnetic fields are given to both meniscus and spouting stream regions from submerged nozzle. The occurence of defect due to mold powder decreased and it is contributing to cast high quality steel at high speed casting.
