Methods for assessment of cleanliness in superclean steels. Application to bearing steels*
Évaluation de la propreté inclusionnaire dans les aciers très propres. Application aux aciers à roulements
The requirements for cleanliness in bearing steels are so high that special methods have to be used in order to characterize their inclusion content.
In this study, the advantages and limitations of six methods are compared. The investigated volume and the type of information obtained depend on the method used.
