Abstract

After 18 years of operation and production of 48.2 Mt, the No. 6 Chiba blast furnace is a key equipment for production of pig iron and production of energy. The operating procedures elaborated during these years and a complement of monitoring of the lining wear allow to forecast an operation until the relining scheduled in 1998.
