Abstract

Wakayama bloom caster (410 x 530 mm²) is equipped with mold electromagnetic stirring. Furthermore soft reduction and induction heating in tundish have been installed in order to perfect strand core soundness.

The article describes the results achieved with these technologies and the solutions adopted in accordance with the carbon content of steel.
