Decarburization of steel melt to less than 10 ppm by RH degasser with oxygen blowing*
Decarburation de l'acier a moins de 10 ppm par dégazage au RH avec insufflation d'oxygène
Theoretical and experimental studies were carried out to clarify the effects of geometry such as a vacuum vessel and snorkels, and fluid flow in ladle on the decarburization rate and final carbon content in RH with oxygen gas top blowing.
Theoretical analysis of RH yielded a new vacuum vessel of which cross-sectional area and diameter of snorkel were enlarged. Decarburization conditions have been improved.
