Control of the fuel consumption and blast furnace productivity using models*
Maîtrise de la mise au mille de combustible et de la productivité du haut-fourneau à l'aide de la modélisation
The difference between the operational fuel rate and the minimum fuel rate metallurgically possible under given boundary conditions can be calculated. The fuel rate is co-influenced by the radial flow of gas controlled by means of the ore/coke distribution. Increasing degradation of sinter and coke makes the control of the radial flow of gas more difficult due to narrowing of the coke channel between the cohesive zone and the dead man.
