Improvement of the surface quality of slabs by mould heat transfer optimization when casting crack-sensitive steeel grades*
Amélioration de la qualité de surface de brames d’aciers sensibles à la formation de criques par une optimisation du transfert de chaleur en lingotière
In order to decrease longitudinal cracking of peritectic steel grades mould heat transfer optimization has been carried out. The variables used were the type of the mould powder and the depth and the port angle of the SEN. The heat transfer from the strand to the mould water and the surface quality of slabs were examined during trials.
