Cold-rolled steel alkaline cleaning before annealing : a parametric study*
Dégraissage alcalin avant recuit continu : étude paramétrique
In phosphate-based alkaline electro-cleaning surface oil residues and iron fines are best eliminated by those process steps involving some degree of mechanical scrubbing.
It would however be dangerous to dispense with the others, which complement their effects. Appropriate rinsing is absolutely mandatory to remove the residual oil and wetting agent-containing cleaner film left behind.
