Analysis of hot charging process for slabs by advanced simulation program Steeltemp® at Outokumpu Polarit's hot strip mill in Tornio, Finland*
Analyse d'un procédé de chargement à chaud des brames par le programme de simulation avancée Steeltemp® à Tornio, Finlande
The aim of this study was to investigate the temperatures of slabs during hot charging processes at Outokumpu's hot strip mill in Finland. Particular attention was to be given avoiding unnecessary overheating of hot slabs caused by large fluctuations in charging temperatures when heating cold and hot charged slabs together in the reheating furnace. Different cases were calculated by means of the simulation program, Steeltemp® ID.
