Fundamental study on recycling technology of zinc-containing dusts in steel works*
Étude fondamentale sur le recyclage en sidérurgie de poussières riches en zinc
In order to solve environmental problems in steel works, an effective recycling process of zinc containing dusts has been studied. After pelletizing the dust with binder and fine coke, these pellets were charged into hot metal in an experimental electric furnace. As a result of the charging tests, it was clarified that the zinc oxide is reduced and recovered as zinc vapour. The result was verified by charging them into 200 tons of hot metal produced from commercial blast furnace.
