Status of the CSM strip casting process^*

État de développement du procédé CSM de coulée continue de bandes minces

Abstract

In this paper, different activities carried out in the framework of CSM/AST Strip Casting project are described. Particularly, the principal results concerning liquid steel feeding into the mould, lateral containment of steel, casting roll behaviour, steel solidification phenomena are shown. Besides, the improvements obtained on the strip quality and geometry by the application of these results are also illustrated.
