Installation of the first DSR® for steel application at Baosteel.*
First results
The DSR® (Dynamic Shaperoll) is a thickness, flatness and profile actuator constituted by a metallic sleeve rotating freely around a stationary beam, the sleeve being forced against the work roll by several pads independently controlled. It has been used with success in aluminium rolling. Baosteel has decided to revamp its 5-stand tandem cold mill by putting a DSR on the last stand. It is the first application on steel. The first operating results are presented in this paper.
