DSR technology to improve strip flatness on a steel tandem cold mill*
Contrôle de la planéité au tandem à froid avec la technologie DSR
The ability of the DSR technology to improve strip shape in cold rolling is investigated. The advantages of the DSR compared to other conventional flatness actuators (fox and worb bending, thermal spray, mill tilting) are discussed through experiments and modelling. Finally, evaluations of real flatness benefits on rolled strips are estimated : it is shown that strip shape improvement is significant for wide products. This study should help to evaluate the advantages of such a technology for the steel industry.
