Refurbishment opportunities and the performance of steel intensive overcladding*
Intérêt pour la réhabilitation des bâtiments et la tenue en service de recouvrements par panneaux en acier revêtu
The performance of steel overcladding is being investigated in a variety of environments within Europe. Durability coupons have been placed behind systems and environmental monitoring equipment has been installed to establish their relationship. Steel-faced panels and galvanized steel substructures have yielded preliminary results indicating significant improvements in building performance. Demand for overcladding is huge and this study will demonstrate long term durability and the improvements afforded to existing buildings.
