New developments of the 3-roll technology*
Nouveaux développements de la technologie à trois galets
After describing in principle the characteristics of 3-roll as compared to 2-roll passes, the design and operational features of the Reducing and Sizing Blocks (RSB) are presented. With the emphasis on new developments concerning pass design, remote control and computer assisted pass adjustment in the roll shop, all the advantages of the RSB with respect to product quality and especially mill economy (higher yield and utilization) are summarized.
