The iron ore screening process plays a pivotal role in determining the dimensions of pellets that enter the firing process of a pelletizing plant. The particle size distribution resulting from this process significantly influences the gas flow permeability within the induration furnace. This paper investigates the latest developments in screening technology, highlighting advancements that contribute to elevated levels of screening efficiency and enhanced plant productivity. The discussion turns around how these technological innovations pave the way for achieving the objective of producing high-quality iron ore pellets with minimal energy consumption, thereby improving the overall performance of the plant. The paper offers a comprehensive overview of the screening process flowsheet, encompassing these cutting-edge technologies, associated process parameters, and benefits quantified through DEM simulations. Moreover, it examines the consequential impact on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, providing a holistic perspective on the environmental implications of these advancements.
