A new concept for using oxy-fuel burners and oxygen lances to optimize electric arc furnace operation*
Une nouvelle méthode pour l'utilisation de brûleurs oxy-combustibles et de lances à oxygène pour optimiser la marche du four à arc.
A new concept for intensive oxygen use in UHP electric arc furnaces has been developed at the Kehl Works by Badische Stahlwerke and L'Air Liquide.
With burners and lances adapted to operating conditions, the electric energy savings is 60 kWh/metric ton and tap to tap times are under one hour.
