Abstract

Combustion technology of pulverized coal with oxygen in the blast furnace is studied by NKK as for intensive injections of coal.

A theoretical study on coal combustion in the raceway cavity leads to formulae giving rate and efficiency of combustion. Tests in Ohgishima No. 2 blast furnace confirm that high oxygen concentration and development of injection technique are compulsory.
