Combustion and heat transfer mechanism in iron bath smelting reduction furnace*
Mécanismes de combustion et de transfert de chaleur dans un four de fusion-réduction à bain de fonte
Gas flow, temperature distribution, post-combustion ratio and heat transfer efficiency in a 5-ton scale furnace have been calculated using a mathematical model. Calculation results of postcombustion ratio according to coal species have good correspondence with experiments. Using this model, material and heat balance for various conditions could be evaluated.
