Secondary metallurgy and continuous casting practice for clean steel production*
Utilisation de la métallurgie secondaire et de la coulée continue pour la production d’acier propre
The industrial procedure for the production of clean steel by tank degassing will be explained. During this kind of secondary metallurgy, a simultaneous degassing as well as metal-slag reaction occurs. During continuous casting process, a reoxidation and resulphurisation must be prevented. Optimum results for steel cleanness can be achieved with a vertical bending caster type.
