Abstract

The temperature losses of liquid steel after the last measured temperature in the converter are investigated. This investigation includes also the losses during ladle treatment. The results are described with relationships, based on theoretical considerations. The remaining error is close to the error of the measurement equipment. The developed model comes in operation during 1997 to improve the tundish temperature prediction (standard deviation : 3.5 °C).
