Study on the zinc recovery process from steel plant dust using hydrogen containing gas*
Étude d’un procédé de récupération du zinc des pousières d’aciérie grâce à l’utilisation d’un gaz contenant de l’hydrogène
The increase of zinc coated products in scrap requires the development of economical recovery processes of zinc from steelmaking dust. A new process is under development, using hydrogen as reagent. This allows a faster operation at lower temperature. The expected recovery efficiency is 90 %. Compared to existing processes, the size of industrial equipements should be reduced with an impact on the operating costs.
