Investigations of burden distributions at high ore to coke ratio*
Étude de la répartition de la charge du haut-fourneau à rapport minerai/coke élevé
In order to increase quickly pulverized coal injection at the modernized No. 3 blast furnace of Kakogawa, various investigations of burden distribution at high ore to coke ratio were performed prior to the start-up during the filling operation.
The results of these investigations have clarified the fact that the O1 armor stroke position can be utilized to control the gas permeability and to acquire the optimum burden distribution.
Applying the results, the No. 3 blast furnace is being operated steadily. The PC rate reached 125 kg/thm a month after the blow-in and 170 kg/thm in May 1997.
