Récupération, amélioration et recyclage de ferrailles avant et après incinération des déchets
It is British Steel’s intention to recover, upgrade and recycle up to 400 000 t of post consumer scrap per year. Methods for scrap recovery at refuse transfer stations and incineration (EFW) plants are discussed along with methods to upgrade economically the scrap to a quality suitable for high quality steelmaking.
Subject of a presentation at the 1998 ATS International Steelmaking Conference (Paris, December 1-2, 1998, Session 9).
This work has been carried out by staff at British Steel’s Teesside Technology Centre with the help and co-operation of various local authorities and British Steel Works. The authors would like to thank all of the people involved in the plant trials and British Steel for permission to publish this paper.
