"DREAM STEEL" the Stefana bar mill: efficiency and throughput optimization, an aggregate of the most recent technologies
The Stefana Bar Mill (Nave, Brescia, Italy) was commissioned in April 2008. The production rate, on a 3-shift basis is 750,000 t/y. The product mix includes straight rebars from 8 mm to 40 mm diameters and compact coils from 8 mm to 16 mm diameters. The salient features of this plant are strictly related to improvement of profitability on low-added value products, concentrating on efficiency and throughput optimization.
