Influence of the technological route and of the associated thermo-mechanical processes on the realization of thick cylindrical components in 2.25%Cr-1%Mo steel
A critical evaluation is reported of the features and properties of thick ferrules (2.25%Cr-1%Mo steel) realized through different technological routes: forging, hot rolling and cold bending. The characterization of the ferrules has been performed with metallographic observations, mechanical tests and texture crystallographic analysis by SEM-EBSD. The results show the effect of the various processes on mechanical performance and highlight the associated microstructural modifications they bring about.
