To improve flowability of slag and separating capacity of slag from hot metal, the effect of CaF2 on apparent viscosity was studied from 1340 to 1475 °C by using Area Scanning Mappings, viscometer, etc. The results show that CaF2 can decrease apparent viscosity and increase flowability of the high Ti-bearing blast furnace slag. With increasing CaF2 addition from 0 to 3%, the volume fraction of perovskite decreased gradually, titaniferous augite increased, and Ti(C,N) increased little.
Key words: perovskite / Ti(CN) / apparent viscosity / CaF2 / high Ti-bearing blast furnace slag
