Burden distribution control using bell-less top charging at Kimitsu blast furnaces*
Maîtrise de la répartition des charges aux gueulards sans cloche des hauts fourneaux de Kimitsu
Kimitsu No.3 blast furnace (inner volume 4,063 m3) started its second campaign in April 1986, with bell-less top charging being adopted for the first time at Kimitsu Works. The measures for obtaining optimal gas flow and burden distributions are described. The second campaign of No.4 BF (inner volume : 5,151 m3) started in July 1988. The main operating data are given, particularly the pulverized coal rate.
