Last achievements with the EOF process*
Derniers résultats atteints par le procédé EOF
This paper shows the achievements reached with the EOF operating 30, 60 and 80-ton furnaces. The main consumption and productivity figures are confirming that the EOF is already a reliable and flexible process, for producing economically steel in different furnace sizes and hot metal input varying between 40 to 70 %. The capacities of EOF melt shops may vary between 200 000 to 1 million tons/year for a single furnace operation. The results of test campaigns producing steel from 100 % steel scrap only with primary energies proves the further potential of the EOF.
