Metallurgical procedures to achieve very low phosphorus contents
Procédés métallurgiques pour obtenir de très faibles teneurs en phosphore
The metallurgical aspects of the three steps of dephosphorization under oxidizing conditions that is to say dephosphorization of hot metal, in the BOF, and in secondary metallurgy are explained in detail. Plant results for the different treatment steps and the influence of the main parameters are shown. Starting with 900 ppm of phosphorus in the hot metal, it is possible to adjust P-contents of less than 20 ppm by coupling of the three dephosphorization treatments.
