The secondary refining technologies for improving the cleanliness of ultra-low carbon steel at Kwangyang Works*
Technique d'affinage en métallurgie secondaire pour l'amélioration de la propreté des aciers à ultra-bas carbone à l'usine de Kwangyang
To improve the cleanliness of ultra-low carbon steel, several techniques concerning ladle slag control and RH treatment were adopted at Kwangyang Works. As a result, total oxygen in slab is reduced to about 9 to 12 ppm, and the rejected ratio in cold rolled coil is decreased.
