Selective differential roll cooling in relation to strip flatness and shape control*
Refroidissement sélectif des cylindres en relation avec le contrôle de la planéité de la bande
The management of production costs and product quality requires that every aspect of the rolling process must be analyzed and then optimized. Controlling temperature variations in the rolls is only one of the multiplicity of functions involved.
The intent of this paper therefore is to show the importance of this aspect, to describe a technology which can be used, and to develop the practical considerations involved.
