Blast furnace model for gas flow control*
Modèle du haut-fourneau pour la maîtrise de la répartition gazeuse
Gas flow control through adequate burdening is a key factor to good blast furnace performances : low fuel rate, high productivity, long service life.
It becomes a must to reach high PCI rates.
CRM is developing a mathematical model simulating the main phenomena involved in the blast furnace process. Linked with the burdening model of Sidmar, this tool allows the operator to visualize the consequences of a charging sequence modification on the internal state of the blast furnace, namely the cohesive zone position and shape, the gas flow distribution, the thermal losses and the progress of reduction.
