Operational results on the Consteel™ process and their significance*
Les résultats d'exploitation du procédé Consteel® et leur signification
A 54 t/h Consteel system in commercial operation for 3 years at Florida Steel Corp. has exceeded the guaranteed value of productivity and specific consumption with 360 kWh and 15 Nm3/t of billet and up to 2.3 t of billet/MW.h. The process designed to continuously feed-preheatmelt and refine steel from scrap or DRI comply with any regulation or environment. A 120 t/h Consteel plant started operation early in October 1992 at Nagoya Works of Kyoei Steel.
